Rev. Nathan Hill

Senior Pastor

Rev. Nathan Hill is University Christian Church’s Senior Minister and is proud to serve this vibrant, multi-cultural, multi-racial, justice-oriented congregation in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Nathan is originally from southwest Oklahoma, the son of a public educator and a nurse. He graduated from Cameron University and Wesley Theological Seminary and has served congregations and organizations in Oklahoma, Texas, Washington DC, and Maryland. His passion for others has led him to participate and serve with young adult ministry, new worship gatherings, camp programs, anti-racism trainings, homeless ministry, grief support, and more. University Christian Church is a special congregation that draws many of those passions together for the purpose of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Hill currently is working on a Doctor of Ministry from Phillips Theological Seminary.

Nathan is married to Yunkyong, a native of South Korea, who also is a graduate from Wesley Theological Seminary with a passion for children’s ministry and spiritual practices. They have two children, Emily and Joseph, who keep them busy and challenge them to keep growing.

Sharon How

Transitional Worship Music Intern

Born and raised in Singapore, Sharon How was drawn to music as a young child and enthusiastically started taking piano lessons at the age of eight. In 2014, Sharon moved to China to pursue her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at the Suzhou University School of Music in China, under a full scholarship. She studied classical piano with Russian pianist pedagogue Dr. Angela Cholakyan, under whom she earned several collegiate honors and top prizes in international piano competitions.

Her overseas pursuit of her musical passion in college led to the beginning of her journey with Christ, when she discovered Jesus and accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior during her third year in college, after a first-hand experience of a God-given dream that carried the message of salvation – an answer to her prayer asking God to reveal Himself if He is the highest and eternal truth.

In September 2018, Sharon arrived in Maryland to undertake a Master's Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Maryland under Russian pianist Dr. Larissa Dedova, where she currently serves as a graduate teaching assistant.

The seed of Sharon's passion for music ministry began when she started as a volunteer pianist in the church choir and praise band in her home church, University Christian Church in Maryland. She currently seeks ways to best serve the diverse musical and worship needs of her home church and to share the good news of the gospel.
