Join Us for Advent and Christmas at University!
Advent is a season of preparation for the coming of Christ, and University Christian Church celebrates this time through worship, prayer, reflection, and joy. You are invited to join us to prepare our hearts and lives for hope and joy. See our schedule:
Friday, November 30:
Hanging of the Greens, 6:30 PM - Help us decorate our church building for the season.
Sunday, December 2:
Blue Christmas Service, 9:00 AM - Our Blue Christmas service is a special worship to make space for our grief and pain in this holiday season. Come if you miss a loved one or are experiencing "blue" feelings. Christ meets you in this difficult season.
Celebration Worship at 11:00 AM - We begin our sermon series, "Rethink Christmas", and sing and make room for the coming of light into our darkness.
Sunday, Dec. 2 - 9 - We host Safe Haven, a local ministry that transforms our church space into a warm and safe place to stay for homeless men in our community.
Sunday, December 9:
Celebration Worship at 10:45 AM - We continue our sermon series and celebrate the gift of peace through this season.
Sunday, December 16:
Celebration Worship at 10:45 AM - We continue our sermon series on Rethink Christmas and hear special music selections that invite us to know God's love for us.
Sunday, December 23:
Celebration Worship at 10:45 AM - We are invited to reflect on the joy of Christ's coming into a broken world as we continue to rethink Christmas through our worship together.
Monday, December 24, Christmas Eve:
We offer two worship times, 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM, singing, praying, hearing the stories, and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
We have plenty of parking available in our parking lots next to the church and are acessible by public transit, a few blocks from the PG Plaza metro station on the Green line. Our space is handicap accessible. You can also listen online here on our website. Children's activities are part of the worship day. We truly seek to welcome and include all in worship as best as we can. Don't hesitate to call or email us if you have any questions.
